something i think about in the middle of the night when i can't sleep.

There is something that is a recurring thought i've had for quite some time that creeps into my head usually at about 4am. It's kind of complicated to explain but I'll try. It's the fact that I often wonder.....in slaughterhouses or the meat industry, factories, farms etc all over the country and world, there is someone or several people who have the unlikely job of actually having to KILL the animals right?....Which leads me into thinking, who are these people? What type of person is cut out for making their living this way? Does it bother them? Do they block it out? Is there a "profile" ya know, FBI type stereotype person who finds their way to this position? are they predominantly male? or are there female chicken-head-cutters? I'd like to see some unbiased (un-PETA-freak) camera interviews about who these people are and what are their lives are like? Do they have children? Do they TELL the children what they do for a living? and if they make it sound all nice for the kids like.."oh daddy works at the piggie factory"..then..aren't they just really covering up the fact that it truely IS bothersome to them? So why do they do it?

  1. They are poor, uneducated and don't have many options in life.... and they aren't very squeemish.... imagine the nightmares...

I am much more disgusted with the industry leaders and decision makers who run these places! And proud of all the work animal rights activists have done to change things, more changes are needed though.

    I feel you, 4am worry-sessions are a bitch!
